Aladin Pro, Memo-mouse and Windows 7 [Archive]

Hi everyone.
Having just bought two second hand Aladin Pro computers and a Memo-mouse I'm trying to get the devices to talk to my Windows 7 (32 bit) computer that does not have a com port. I have a USB-uart connector, however get blue screens of death every time I try.
Help.... please

Serial is getting pushed out as an option, and some USB adapters are rather shoddy at best.

I'd try grabbing a "Windows7" compatible adapter and try that because the blue screen of death is usually a hardware issue, and I suspect that the drivers it's trying to load for your existing USB adapters is causing a hardware fault.

On the off chance it's a Prolific based chipset, the Windows7 issue is well documented, and you can get an updated driver over here (http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31).
