Hello everyone,

First of all thank you to those who recommended Dive Sea & the Hebrides on my last posting, went last weekend and had a tremendous time, best diving I have ever done in British waters.

This posting is about equipment, I am considering replacing my Buddy Ranger and looking at alternatives. There is a wide range as we all know, the Seaquest Pro Quickdraw has been recommended which looks like it meets what I am looking for. I am not convinced about intergrated weights however, I have had problems with my Ranger to the point I don't use it, bought a harness.

If anyone has experience with BC's good or bad I would like to here your views. I would be grateful if anyone can point out some alternative BC's to look at.

Your input is always appreciated.

Regards

Mike M

I think most these days are pretty much alright. Buddy Commando is always popular - you'll never break one, and if you do Buddy are very good with repairs / replacement parts. I personally have a Cressi S111, which has also been really good. Works well with both single and twins, again very tough, plenty of bouyancy in the right place, and a good integrated weights system (they can only ever possibly fall out if you're inverted, and even then its very difficult to lose them against the velcro and pop-stud). It's been replaced by a newer model, which I assume is just as good...

Sure most other brands are ok too, but no experience of them

I'd reccomend trying some of your mates BC's as a great way to find out your own preferences.

I've just got a Seac Sub Pro 3000. Very happy with it, lots of lift and can take twin 12s without a problem. Possibly a little expensive though.
