LOST!! Yellow and black oceanic weight belt with approx 10kg of shot bags comprising 2 x 1kg, 1 x 2kg and 2 x 3kg bags. As a novice diver and just starting out i bought this belt brand spanking new with the weight, The weight costing £7 a kilo. So you can see this has been a very expensive lesson for me (I will never loose my grip again).

So if anyone is diving the harcar at the farnes and finds this belt i would appreciate a message, So i could possibly be re-united with my belt.

I would be willing to give a little reward and my heart felt thanks to any honest diver out there.

Micromouse has already said he would look for it when he is there in a week or so which i am greatful for. (From an earlier post for advice)

Thanks John

John,

If this is not found before half-term, last week October, then let us know and we too shall look out for it.

PM a reminder to me. ;)

Too little, too late - but:

On the assumption that you lost it while handing it up to the boat -

• always ensure that you hang onto the "tail" end, unless the weights are already secured to the belt because they could otherwise slip off.
• remove the belt so that the belt lies over the top of your grip, such that the loop of it is the first point of locking to your grip and, particularly with gloves on, therefore does a large amount of the work of securing it - rather than your hand/fingers.

I hope that I've described that adequately.

Yes you have Christian Thankyou.

I am still a beginner in this fantastic pastime of diving and loosing stuff. I have not yet had alot of experiance, Having clocked up only 374 minutes in the water, So this trip was my first real trip 3 days 6 dives, sorry 5 dives sat out on one due to sea sickness.
This was an unfortunate accident (in rough sea approx 4ft waves) where my buddy on the boat thought she had my belt, As i was struggling to hang on one handed for any length of time in a safe manner. I quickly released my buckle believing she had my belt only to find she had only grabbed my bcd cummerband. I don't blame her at all it was a pure mistake just a bit costly on my behalf.

Thanks John

John
I have 2 x 3kgs shot bags and some lead blocks which I no longer need. You are welcome to have them for a small donation to Scuba Trust but you will need to arrange collection.
