Dry Suit Zip

Hi,

Dry Suit Zip ... open or closed .....

Well obviously most prefer it shut during the dive ... and open when entering or leaving their drysuit. ... but what about when it's laid up for a week or two ? ...

Personaly I'd love it never to be laid up for more than a day or two at a time ... but sometimes it's weeks.

Anyway ... stored open or shut ... Shut it's probably a little more immune to damage ... but open it's probably not stressing the parts that are squished together to create the seal ...

What do you recon ?

Dry Suit Zip ... open or closed .....

I've got an Otter suit and in the little book that came with it they say keep it open as it stresses the zip less. So I do.

Just like as janos said - all the information i've seen from drysuit and zip manufacturers is to store it with the zip open, and it does make sense from the point of view of stress on the zip and fabric.
