Hi,
Just wondering if anybody can help me with this question.
I wanted to know is there a problem with buying Regs, BCD, Computers, etc in USA and using them in Europe.
Are HP and LP hoses and fittings different to the equipment sold in UK?
Thanks Ro.
With the current exchange rate you can get some good buys from the states (I recently imported a wing). Compatibility shouldn't be a problem as all the Regs. and BC's have the same fittings.
A computer from the US is likely to use imperial units, If that not what you want make sure you know how to change it into meters.
Remember that if your buying via the Internet or mail order (rather than smuggling the stuff back in your suitcase) you may end up paying Import Tax and VAT when you new purchase comes through customs.
Happy Shopping
Chris

This gets really complex, I'm a Brit living in the US. Buying stuff online only works if you use a US credit card.
There are ways around this, I got a long explanation from a US shop and can pass this on if you like.
In general kit is pretty reasonably priced over here. Remember compatability problems with charger voltages, and that tank standards and pilar valve threads are different.
I have had no problems attaching US-supplied hoses (e.g. inflators) onto my regulators. DIN and A-clamp standards are the same.
If you want any advice then please let me know
cheers
Dave
