Absolutely. Completely and utterly. Without question. Yes.
I was invited up to dive the Rez by the Regional Rep of West Midlands SAA. They were running a Rescue Course there involving the diving dummies they use http://www.divernet.com/Training/461580/dummy_run.html The idea behind it was to simulate rescuing an unconcious casualty from an overhead environment, ie wreck or cave.
Now I was pretty much five miles from the site when I rang the SAA Rep to let her know my ETA when I asked her how deep the site was. She replied "2 metres". If I hadn't been driving for over two hours to get there and it would have been unprofessional to do so, I would have turned the car around at that point. I was really not amused. I'd been dragged half way up the country to waste my time on a piddly 2 metre dive. So Croz Roz appears on the scene.
Martin the Owner gave the group a safety talk and site orientation. I have to say he's put a tremendous amount of thought into the place and it's well laid out. The safety processes are exceptionally thorough.
And then we got into the water with Dotty (the diving dummy). I went for a mooch about and what struck me instantly was the impression of great depth. If you told me I was penetrating a wreck at 40 metres I'd believe you. It truly is the deepest two metres you'll ever dive.
It's also very safe for all levels of divers because whilst it might not seem like it, it is a clear surface. If you need to surface you'll find there is about a metre or so clearance above your head so a very large air bell. Lined across the concrete ceiling are lines so you can pull yourself from one side to the other quickly.
This is a site that all divers ought to visit to practice their line laying, finning techniques and buoyancy skills. You can also dive here with a bundle of stages and practice clipping, swapping and unclipping them. I know of a number of tech instructors who use this site for personal education and training. The joy of The Rez is that it is so shallow you can pull amazing times doing skills and drills. And because again it's so shallow, you do get more buoyancy changes so great for letting baby divers go play and work it out for themselves.
The Rez also has a most excellent tea room on site that does scrumptious cakes.
So in answer to your question "is The Rez worth diving"? Yes. Go for it. It's an experience you shall never forget and you should be in for a really daft, fun and enlighting day. It ought to be a destination that every diver ought to dive before they hang up their fins because it's the deepest two metres going.

It is ok for a bit of a night dive/cave/deep inside a wreck dive, little to see other than some skellies;) but as roz says, handy....though i was too fresh outa OD to do that sort of thing when i went there, now i'd likely lay lines etc if going again.
Cheap enough too, depending where your from, might be worth poping into eccy depth as a 2nd dive...the rez is canny, but not that good to do two back to back dives:)
Have fun,
John
