View Full Version : Snorkel & mask for a 4 year old?
Guys,
Any idea where I could get a decent kids snorkel kit from?
My girlfriends little lad is 4 in August and is fascinated by fish - keeps trying to stick his heads in the rock pools for a look!
He's a pretty good swimmer but will only be in shallow rock pools to start with.
Any ideas?
Cheers

About the only ones i have seen about that would fit a 4 year old would be in ALDI supermarkets, of all places. Their summer specials section in our local one has some small kits. The masks look to be silicone as well, so they might be ok. Haven't bought any, so i wont offer any opinions as to quality.
Hope this helps.

Online sports retailer Newitts stocks a junior mask and snorkelling kit, at a reduced price of £8.50 and described as suitable for both the pool and the sea.

Of course, the problem with junior masks is finding one that fits. A leaky mask is always disagreeable to a snorkeller, particularly a 4-year-old.

If you're thinking about providing him some time with fins as well, Newitts sell good-quality, soft, all-rubber fins which won't damage children's growing feet, at a similar cost. They're made in Greece and are a popular choice with the parents of young swimmers throughout continental Europe, not least because they also come in a very small sizes:

Oceanic used to do a range of Children's masks and I think Junior snorkels. Don't know if they still do you. You could talk to an Oceanic Dealer.
I know that Denney Diving stocks kids snorkel stuff. Follow the link. http://www.divingdirectshop.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1806

Scuba + Outdoor on the Stratford Road have a few kids sets, got my 2 (now 5 + 7) a set each last year. Other that Decathlon probably do them.
