In case you were wondering why the BSAC websites have been dead for a while:
At 0912 this morning, the server was shut down. It appears that no-one related to BSAC knew why.
Checking Easily's status page, they are doing "essential maintenance to Easily.co.uk hosting and email services" today, and "Some customers will experience a brief outage lasting up to 30 minutes during this period".
So the server was down for 90 minutes because they turned it off without bothering to tell us. Thanks, guys.
I don't expect to see any problems with the box (it was shut down properly this time), but I'm checking anyway. Please let me know if you find any new brokenness ;-)
