I have a G9/Ikelite set up with an Epoque wide angle but would like to add a fisheye. I have had a look on google but had no luck. Any ideas?

If I had gone Inon instead of Epoque i could have just added the dome but it doesn't look like Epoque do one.

does your housing have the 67mm screw thread? if so you can add the inon fish eyes via the AD adaptor iirc.

yes it does have the 67mm thread. What is an AD adapter?

the inon UFL165AD fisheye iirc is an AD mount i.e. a bayonet mount. so you need a screw to bayonet adaptor to fit the inon fisheyes. that is what they call the AD adaptor.

i just checked with my local stockist, they use the 10 bar 67mm ad adaptor. the cost is around GBP10.

Cheers. One last question. It lists it as a fisheye conversion lens. I understood this to mean (probably incorrectly) that it converted the Inon wide angle lens to a fisheye. Is it a lens in its own right?

thanks

Richie

no its not. its just a ring that has a screw thread on one side, and a bayonet mounting on the other side. inon make 2 wide angle lenses (the 100 and 105 series) which are also AD mount and the 165 is the fisheye. there are some reviews tho that say that because you need to zoom out a little on the 165mm to remove the corner vignetting, it actually offers a very similar FOV to the purpose built inon 105 wide angle which is purpose built for 28mm digitals. however, apparently the 165 according to my stockist, allows for close up wide angle macro work too.

ive not as yet seen a shoot out comparison between the two directly on the same camera.

Richie,

IIRC the G9 has a 35-210mm (equivalent) lens. If you marry that up to a wet lens (of whatever type) designed for a 28mm camera lens you are going to get some significant vignetting.

I do get a little with my wide angle but one push of the zoom sorts that out.

Thanks KDTAN, I'm beginning to think I will be better off sticking to my wide and waiting until I convert to SLR (must check my lottery tickets)
