ALL WELCOME

Hi all,

Southsea Subaqua Club are very fortunate to have a guest speaker this Thursday night 30/06/05, to talk about that other famous sea battle - Not Trafalgar but the Battle of the Solent.

Dr Dominic Fontana will be making a presentation about the battle of the Solent (1545) and the sinking of the Mary Rose. Dominic will talk about why the Mary Rose went down, digitally re-creating the positions of the two fleets of 1545, and placing these onto accurate historical and modern charts of the Solent - to investigate the events that surrounded the sinking of the Mary Rose.

Dominic took part in much of the Mary Rose project and we will hopefully see one or two of the former club members who worked with Alex Mackee on this historic project.

The bar will will be open from 8:00pm and the talk is due to start at 8:30pm
