Hi all,
Im a PADI Assistant Instructor and IANTD Adv Rec Trimix diver, can someone tell me what qualification I will hold under the BSAC system?
Do I need to know this when applying for BSAC membership?

You will cross to Dive leader and can go straight for an upgrade for Advanced by completing the modules not already covered by your prior training, this is all at the discretion of the club Diving Officer. He is the man to speak to.

Hi Dan,
When you join BSAC you will dive on your current qualifications from PADI and/or IANTD. BSAC diver qualifications are only awarded to those whom pass a BSAC diver course. See here (http://www.bsac.com/page.asp?section=1629§ionTitle=A+warm+welcome+to+divers+from+other+a gencies) for equivalences, Skill Development Course acceptable training is here (http://www.bsac.com/core/core_picker/download.asp?id=9854&filetitle=Acceptable+alternatives+to+BSAC+SDCs)
Instructor grades are different. On production of another agency's instructor qualification certificate and attendance on a BSAC Instructor foundation course, plus a small fee a BSAC Open Water Instructor certificate is issued. As you are an assistant instructor that's not much use to you.

Edward
