View Full Version : Vyper Air Compass Stopped Working

Hi,

I noticed yesterday that my dive computers electronic compass no longer works. It constantly displays a bearing of north and when I try to re-calibrate it I never get the circle to start moving.

Everything else on the computer works fine.

The computer is still in warranty but I would prefer a solution to the problem that doesn't involve sending it back to Suunto since there's lots of diving to be done.

Any tips on reseting the device or the compass?

Im no expert but that sounds more like a trip to the shop sort of problem. Could you not go back to a manual compass until you have time to get it fixed?

i have a backup manual compass. I don't want to send my computer back as I don't have a backup computer

Royal Mail have confirmed that Suunto have my computer in their Alton site... I wonder how long this is going to take.

From experience....not long.

I sent one back and had a brand new replacement in my hand within 48 hours

That's good. I've got less than 2 weeks until my next dive. Don't want to borrow a computer.

Computer arrived at 7am this morning.
Brand new.

Top job Suunto.
