What was the final outcome over the flurray of messages over BSAC newsflash website? What really got my goat was the article in DIvernet that read as follows.

.............Members of the British Sub-Aqua Club gathered last week to pay their last respects to former BSAC Chairman Derek Cockbill, under whose guidance the club made massive leaps in the 1960s and ?70s.....

I am delighted that divernet have their finger on the pulse, but what about BSAC, there are items on there 1 YEAR OLD!

Two things spring to mind.
1. Why the heck was BSAC not lamenting this chap's passing, by the sound of it (and I do not know the bloke) he helped make it the great club it is/was(?)

2. What are the current arrangements for updating the newsflash. Can't DIVE magazine put the odd item on, surely they could even use it to promote their publication (which we all "buy" with our subscription).

Please update me...and I hope this is not misconstrued as "political"?

Now what we really need is someone at the helm who has experience of the media, publishing, and keeps us troops updated.

Wonder who that could be then???

Gary

The helm needs much more than media and publishing experience. However it is very obvious to many of us that those skills are required to be used at a senior level.

Thank you for your comments about the website.

We are currently in the process of appointing responsibility of posting news items as and whenever possible to a team at HQ.

We hope to have this new system up and running soon.

In the meantime if you have any stories that you would like to see on the website please email them to news@bsac.com

Many thanks.
