Our club have tried Oban and interested in going somewhere else on the west coast of Scotland such as Mull, Skye or Arran for a long weekend later this year, October or November time.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good dive centre to go with, accomodation and comment on the above or recommend anywhere else.

Thanks in advance.

Try the Brendan and Peregrin in lochaline for Mull, Dave Ainsley's Porpoise (and the s/c Olrig cottage) on Seal Island for the Gavellachs and "Dive and Sea the Hebrides" on Skye.

They're all great, offering varied diving in the 10-40m range

.....there's a remote place called Loch Nevis (reachable from Mallaig) for the really adventurous. You'll need all your own gear (inc boat & compressor) but the diving is spectacular.

And for those who are even more adventurous the next loch up (Loch Hourne) has some lovely reefs, drop offs, wrecks and even a freshwater run-off giving a very clear halocline.

is the local dive outfit (on the Knoydart peninsula - between Loch Nevis and Loch Hourne). I used them years ago and found them to be VERY helpful. They even have accomodation at various levels if you want to make an expedition out of it (use your own boats - or their day boats instead of Mary Doune)
