Hi everyone
I had heard that it is quite expensive to launch out of Salcombe these days. So I rang the Harbour Master and they said it is £6.50 per day to launch. Now that seems failry reasonable to me so I am wondering whether I have missed a big cost out?!
Thanks for your help

Is that £6.50 per boat or per meter?
How much is trailor parking?
Graham.

That is a good question. They just stated £6.50 per day and you can do it for 3 days in a row or you have to get a week or season pass. I think it is nearly as much for a week pass than it is for a season pass.
I'll find out the answer to your questions and post back.
Thanks
Hannah

Not sure of the daily rate for boats as we have an annual local's ticket, but trailer parking will cost you £5/day, and the car parking is about £6/day.

The cost you appear to have missed out is the annual licence fee

Cough Cough according to my estimate the cost for a 5.8m rib is £105.80 for the annual fee plus a charge of £6.50 a day for using the harbour.
That is rather expensive according my experience.
I think launching at Hope is cheaper. It's also much cheaper to launch at Salcombe if you have a PL postcode.

yep,
We used to organise a club trip for three days every year to Salcombe, however the harbour fees, on top of the launching fees, killed it.
But, launching at Hope cove is still a possibility, but TBH, we dropped the club boat and went with the local dive charters who picked up and dropped off out of south sands anyway.
I can give you details on a very good local skipper/B&B/Rib if you wish (PM)
The reason they use South sands is it avoids the 20mins of 6knts to get out of the harbour.

Looking at the table of charges the fee appears to be £6.50 per day, without any other fees being payable. Make sure you bring your insurance certificate though.

Yes, they now require £3million.....
