myself and a friend want to go diving in malta, but were both 18 and don't have much diving experience so need somewhere which will be safe/helpful/reliable.
we'v found this company "maltaqua" and the prices are good but would like to know anyone whose dived with them's comments- especially any bad ones.
the other company wev looked into is "dive deep blue" tho that seems more expensive, wev heard lots of good reviews on it.
or if youve been to malta and found someone particularly good, that adive would be great too :D
(and were more keen on the diving bein safe, we can cope with scummy accomdation :p )

Good company, run by a very switched on Scottish/Maltese couple. understand (and I think teach) BSAC. Highly recommended

A good friend of mine dives with them regularly and has had no complaints.

Another vote for Maltaqua.
Have used them when in a group and also as a solo traveler.
Their own accommodation is just round the corner from the shop and is very good for what you need.

You can try Strand diving as well - great people and a really cheap flat above the shop. For the other end of scale try Abyss at the New Doleman hotel and spa.
My mum learnt with Agnes at MaltAqua back before I was born...
I've never dived with them - my mum will rave about how great they were, and they seem nice whenever I've spoken to them at diveshows.

Mike Upton is an archetypical Scottish headmaster and Agnes is his boss!

It's worth contacting ScubaSue over in Gozo if you want some up to date info on Malta diving.
PM me if you want her details for making contact.

Hi
I came back from Malta about a month ago and used Paradise Diving based in the North at Cirkewwa (right near the ferry). Prices were reasonable imho and they should now have got the boats out (too early in the season when I was there) to allow dives at Gozo & Comino as well as 2 wrecks dives right near the school both around 30m. Owner is Maltese but the 2 instructors when I was there are both British (Martin & Brian) and were very helpful & friendly. There is a hotel right opposite but there isn't a lot else around that bit, although they were happy to pick me up from my hotel when diving with them.

Hi
Funnily enuff having just arrived back from Barbados I find myself off to Malta in a couple of weeks. I have booked with Maltaqua. Never dived with them before as my last visit to the Island was courtesy of the Royal Navy during 1973. Let you know how I got on after my return. :)

I would have to recommend Corsair Diving - but I am a bit biast :)
Nothern Diver and his dad came diving with us earlier in the year, have a look at this thread http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=19898
Have a great time in Malta who ever you dive with.
Used "maltaqua" for both club and personal trips, always found them very professional.
Hi,
There are a great many dive outfits on Malta and Gozo that are very good at both certification and pleasure diving.
My advice is first select the hotel/accomodation that suits your needs, this will then give you a location on which you can then base your question.
Each location will throw up two or three good outfits which will suit your needs.
One other piece of advice, don't just go for the cheapest, it may be more expensive in the long run.
This site may be of help deciding http://www.pdsa.org.mt/
