Otter make damn good suits. Can't comment on Nova.

Ditto. Also recommend (and have dived) O'Three, Hunter/Gates and Aquion Pro. (Never heard of Nova).

I'm curious.
Why would you want a
cheap drysuit to use as a spare
That seems, to me at least, to be Brit redundancy practices which have definitely gone "over-the-top"?
Or i there a reason for this that I simply can't imagine?

The Seaskin Nova is supposed to be a good suit for the money; Woz uses one - give him a PM. I nearly ordered one, but they couldn't get one made in time for an upcoming trip - there is currently a 7 week turnaround on them (they are all MTM). There are a few reviews on the Yorkshire Divers forum (google it!) too.
Hi, Cristian.
The dry suit i,m in at the mo is starting to need seals replacing , have already done wrist seals myself, but don,t fancy attempting boots or neck seal.
To have the seals done professionally could take up to 14 days turnround.with this in mind i don,t want to wait 2 weeks for a dive or not be able to continue with a trip if a seal rips half way through.
i,m doing a liveaboard next week and am having to take a wetty as back up, would be a sickener to spend a week watching ya mates dive.
hence would be good to have a budget dry-suit as back-up rather than make do with a wetty at this time of year.

I can't comment on the Hammerhead but my 4 year old Seaskin Nova is doing very well.
I can't fault the repair service either
If you do a search on yorkshire divers there are plenty of suit reviews

I have had several suits, gates and DUI amongst them, the best suit I have ever dived is the one I use now, a Seaskin Nova.
Just don't get the boots with the cuban heel ;)

Another Seaskin Nova user here. I really like it and it has stood up to quite a bit of abuse - particularly wriggling through wrecks.
I've got a Nova. Replaced an Otter Hammerhead. Miles better cut. I'd buy another tomorrow.
cheers woz. am sold.will av a trip over to Leeds.

In our climate, it can take 48 - 72 hours for a suit to dry sufficiently for repairs to be made. If away for a week's diving, it can be a good idea to take along an old suit "just in case". This may seem an extreme case of save-a-dive, but we are very heavily taxed, so every little helps.
I always take my old suit along as a backup, even on weekend trips. It's saved my bacon a couple of times, if only to pull bits off it for someone else!
