In less than a year we have had two engine failiures (holed pistons) on our three year old Ocean pro diesel inboard. We have heard that this is a common fault. If anyone has had similar problems with this engine or has any information regarding this fault would they please E.mail me or reply on this forum.
Thanks Chris.

You might try posting the same question on ribnet under the engines forum. Despite the wise cracking they are mine of information and a number are divers as well as professional rib users.

i have just lost one of my 1.7 tdi motors. it is only 1.5 years old. i am trying to get help from cummins mercruiser i was told buy an independent mechanic that it droped a valve, also if any kind of debris enter the turbo it would cause the same problem. my motor did not have any kind of air filter from the factory i have 500 hrs. on a motor that should have lasted 10,000 hrs. i am consulting an attorney who specializes in class action lawsuites if you are interested please e mail me
