I have three spaces remaining for the Seasearch Rathlin trip aboard the Salutay. Consequently I'm opening the trip to other divers, they should be aware that this is primarily a marine survey trip and although we do expect to dive some of the wrecks they will not be the majority of the dives.
The trip will include five days of diving aboard the liveaboard M.V Salutay. The skipper Al Wright is extremely experienced at organising trips in this area. The marine life of Rathlin is considered unique by many marine biologists, the presence of the gulf stream and strong
tidal mixing have resulted in a diversity of species with many sponges and hydroids. We hope to survey some of the spectacular sea cliffs,as well as other areas such as maerl beds and possibly some of the wreck life. Because of the currents the diving can be quite challenging and participants should be experienced divers used to cold water conditions, drift diving and able to use SMBs.
Pickup will be on the 4th of June and drop-off at the on the 9th. One pickup will be in Scotland and another in Northern Ireland. The cost for the trip is ?375 and this includes all diving, airfills, food, accommodation on the boat and pick up from the specified point.
