Im looking for a one-off alternative club night entertainment/club fundraiser, and interested in some sort of speaker that could be recommended by way of BSAC, maybe there are other clubs that have booked such a thing and could point me in the right direction.

any ideas?
Rich.

We've done a few of these at our club. We had Brian & Linda Pitkin talking about their Photography and Linda's books, Martin Farr talking about cave diving and Innes McCartney talking about submarines. try www.farrworld.co.uk for Martin or www.periscopepublishing.com for Innes. To contact Brian have a look on this site for his club details - BSAC 210, Thornton Heath.

Hope that helps

Paul

I used to run bi-monthly talks when I was based in Oman and just generally kept my ear out for interesting people wherever I went. We got a chap from the Hydrographic Office to talk about chart making, local teckies to talk trimix and rebreathers, the local conservation guys to talk about whales, the NDO (just happened to be passing), etc.
Our Branch brought in the Regional Coach to speak after dinner for our annual bash and we were regaled with anecdotes from his commercial days. Other ideas - RNLI, Coastguards, recompression chambers, charter boat skipper. Most people have a story to tell if you are willing to listen!

Regards

Nevil

I often do presentations for clubs. I do
- Introduction to Technical Diving
- Introduction to Decompression Theory

These can be from 1-3 hours and can be tailored to your needs.

Drop me an email if you want more information.

Try the Shark Trust, they have a number of presenters based around the country who would come to do a talk for you, or maybe ask the Seasearch folk to come along and tellyou about what they do in your area (assuming you're in an area where there is Seasearch activity)
