Hi

We have a couple of spaces available diving out of Lyme Regis on Blue Turtle on 1st - 3rd May.

We'll be diving wrecks in 30-35m range - e.g. M2, St Dunstan, Gibel Hamam, Pomeranian etc. - probably one wreck and a drift each day.

Let me know if you'd like any more details etc.

Thanks

Chris

Price? Are you looking for people to fill three days or would I be able to do just one day if needs be?

Hi

We'd prefer to fill all three days if we can, but we'd welcome anyone that wanted single days too.... it's £50 per day.

Thanks

Really? fifty quid?

On Dougs website it says £45 per day for single divers of £450 per day for whole boat charter, profiteering is not a good way to fill spaces...

"Profiteering" is probably a harsh judgement. We don't know the circumstances only that they've bothered to invite us. They've hired the boat and are offering places. That's all we know, there's not necessarily a profit for them in the £50 offered.

I have asked Chris about the price - it is possible that they have chartered it with less people in mind. Although 9 would be an unusual number.

Doug's boat can be a bit tight with 12, especially with twins/stages/rebreathers. I'm booked on it for Autumn with a possible 10 rather than 12 for this reason.

I'm interested, but I need to rustle up a buddy too, and £50 will likely make that a difficult task.

In which case I reserve my harsh judgement...

Doug now only runs with a max of 10 and a minimum of 4 depending on the distance out of the Cob at £45 per person slightly more for the deep offshore wrecks :)

Hi

Thanks for your replies....Sorry for the delay in replying - I've been diving out of Swanage this weekend.

I don't think we're trying to 'profiteer' from the spare places. £50 is the price that we charge our club members too. I agree that if we were charging 'guests' a different price then it might be seen as a bit unfair, but we're not trying to do that.

It is true that £50 is more than the 'per head' price if the boat is full (i.e. 10 divers) but we've adopted a principal this year in the club of charging £50 per day for hardboat diving - the days that the boat is full and we make a bit extra helps to pay for the days when the boat isn't full and we lose money. So if you book on one of our trips and there's only six on board then it'll still only cost you £50 (again, the same price)

If anyone would like to come along and feels badly about the £50 I'll just do it at £45. And we are limiting to 10 people.

Fair enough?

Thanks

Chris
