i dived the pier yesterday and I was a little shocked at the state of the pier, especially the amount of apparent new debris.

I found this today: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=379531155999&ref=search&sid=519314272.2816329964..1

It's a Facebook group petitioning Gwynned Council to 'do something' about the state of the pier beyond just closing it off. As there are quite a few of us who have dived and enjoyed the pier; I thought I would join the group ask any Facebook members that feel the same way to join the group. Who knows, something might come of it if there is enough backing............

I think they have been threatening to knock it down for a while.

Vis was about 1.5 to 3 metres; depth maxed out at just over 6 metres. Temperature a balmy 9 degrees or so

Plenty to see. I spotted an octopus,a flattie, a lobster, loads of shore crabs, a prawn or two, sea scorpions, gobies, sand eels, a pipefish, and some other stuff besides.

There is loads of rubble and debris to rummage around in. I would definitiely do the pier again

Loads of divers though.

We were there Sat. Seems to have been more supports collapsed since last year. This little pocket of life will just disappear when the pier finally goes. Which a good winter storm will do. All Gwynned Council have to do is wait.
