I am no expert but I would guess its nudibranch eggs of some sort, I am sure you knew that and actually wanted breed type (sorry) :o

Just as an aside it appears that northern hemisphere nudibranch ribbons coil in anti clockwise direction and southern in clockwise direction. Bit like water draining down the plug hole.

Only knew they were Nudibranch from seeing oodles of Spanish Dancer eggs while diving in the Red Sea. :)

My bestest guess, having had a shufti through a book that was given to me when I first started diving - "Marine Life" (1966) by Werner de Hass & Freddy Knorr, is the sea lemon Archidoris.pseudoargus. How can a slug which maybe less than a few cms long produce something sooo large?

Thirty two mins in 5 mil wetsuit in 9 degs has got me in tune for Barbados next month. :p

Have some green from me! ;)

Eddie I have the Sound of Mull in membrane dry suit and my winter thermals to look forward to this coming weekend, not quite Barbados. So feel free to take me to Barbados with you I havent a warm water dive booked this year :(

Hi again Yazzy

Did I mention Malta three weeks later? Are you by any chance related to the lovely Maria CM? ;)

I would go with nudibranchs we see them around the bay not sure of breed, I don't know if you can determine that

Hi Eddie,

Looking through my Collins Pocket Guide to the Sea Shore, I would agree. It is the only one I can see that has a description and picture that matches. Also breading occurs now and in the Autumn which would confirm you would see their eggs now.
