Hi
I am taking a group on a Red Sea Liveaboard soon. I am just putting a newsletter together for them with top tips of what to take, expect etc.
The obvious question that I can't answer form memory is what sort of plug adaptor will be required to charge batteries etc?
Anyone help with this and/ or got any thoughts on top tips on what to take/ expect?
Thanks
Steve

I've just got back from a week on Snapdragon (going out from Sharm) and here's a few things I'd recommend people take:
1. A 2-pin adapter to allow you to charge UK appliances (it has 2-pins that connect to non-UK sockets, and a 3-pin UK outlet which you connect your UK appliances to)
2. A spares kit (maybe between the group as a whole) with spare mouthpieces, cable ties, spanner, screwdriver, fin straps, mask straps)
3. Dive torch plus a back-up (a UK Q40 is ideal), with a few glowsticks or strobe
4. A pony cylinder if you're planning to do the deeper wrecks
5. A jumper and pair of trousers as it does get cold in the evenings
6. Decongestants such as sudafed, sea sickness tablets such as sturgeron and pain killers
Also, when you packing your dive gear remember that with most airlines flying to the Red Sea there is an upper limit of 32kgs on any single hold baggage (due to health and safety lifting restrictions for the baggage handlers) and usually 10kgs maximum for the cabin luggage. We flew with Excel Airways and had a maximum permited allowance of 30kgs for the hold and cabin luggage combined; but we checked in as a group so managed to share kit around if someone's bag was too heavy.
Hope you have an excellend time, I certainly did !!

As others have said, 2 pin adaptor needed, but also consider a 4 way extension as you can rapidly run out of sockets when charging torches, cameras, ipods, laptops, etc, etc.
