I have been interested in in diving for years but up until now i haven't pursued it off as i'm on shy side, Anyway i have booked a trail session from the site and hope to then join as member and find a BSAC diving club in the cannock area once i have had my trial gift session.
I have loads to learn so when i came across this forum i was really pleased.
I am a fairly mature person but never the less i am so exicted about actully giving diving ago and if there are any new folk who are in a same situtation it would be great to hear from you

Hi Cal
I didnt start diving until my late forties and apart from having my children and getting a BSc degree it is one of the best things i have ever done. Through diving I have achieved a couple of lifetime dreams as well, so glad I done it.
Just enjoy your try dive and see how you get on.
Hi Cal
Welcome to the BSAC Forums, and I hope that you thoroughly enjoy your Try Dive. Scuba Diving truly can be a passport to changing your world, meeting new friends, travelling to places you'd never even considered and learning new skills. And I'm not just talking about diving skills, but useful day to day skills, such as constructing presentations, public speaking, project management, First Aid etc.
It's funny, so many people talk about the ability to look at fish underwater, they don't ever mention all the other good things that happen because of diving. I personally have observed a few shy people gaining confidence in their personal life through diving. And this confidence has postively perculated through to their business life. And you can make lifelong friendships so strong, its as though you've been bound together with hoops of steel. Diving is a special magical world. I hope that you love your Try Dive and you learn to dive. A good BSAC club will mentor you, and help you grow into a safe and happy diver. Please let us know how you get on.
