Swimming with Sperm Whales

Not sure whether I agree with getting this close to 'nature' but there are some amazing pictures here.

If you look at page 30 onwards in this edition of XRay, Eric Cheng's got some really incredible pictures of swimming with Sperm Whales.

I would love to swim with whales, but I don't think I would want to get that close to a whale! (as in touching them in the wild).

Some time ago someone posted, not necessarily on these Forums, that they had experienced a whale carefully avoiding them with its tail flukes, and how awed they were by that gesture.

Actually it was whale self preservation, like every underwater animal they are extremely careful to avoid contact other than feeding contact, after all, there are no underwater hospitals.
