The West Midlands Regional Coaching Scheme will be running its highly successful Advanced Instructor and First Class Diver Prep Workshops again in 2005.
The above sessions are open to both Open Water Instructors / Advanced Divers moving on to Advanced Instructor and to Advanced Divers who are taking the First Class Diver Examination.
For the last four years we have run AI / FDC workshops covering several topics in the months of January to June. For those doing the Advanced Instructor Course and Exam they have proved to be very useful. Some of the sessions also work well for those candidates wishing to do FCD. The purpose of the sessions is to improve the candidates theory knowledge and practical skills, whilst allowing those wishing to progress to Advanced Instructor to observe AIs in action. Please note the initial sessions may be taken prior to attending an Advanced instructor Course, as they are building on existing theory & practical skills and in no way pre-empt the course.
You may book on individual events but you must have attended the Pool Session to attend the Open Water session.
The sessions are:
Theory 15th & 16th January, Leamington Spa
Session looking at many areas, for both the theory exams and for practical sessions.
Chartwork & Dive Planning Session 19th February Leamington Spa
Pool Session 20th February, Venue to be arranged
Searches, Lifting, Shots + a practical session in a swimming pool.
RIB Weekend 12th & 13th March, Plymouth
Boat Handling & site Location.
Open Water Session 16th April, Local inland siteSearches Lifting, Shots + a practical session
AI Teaching from Boats 18th & 19th June, Plymouth
These sessions are open to those who are Advanced Divers / Open Water Instructors by the 1/1/05. Those taking the FCD Exam must be Advanced Divers by the 1/1/05.
