"CHANGES TO THE STATEMENT OF ALTERNATIVE TRAINING (SALT)

Amendments to the SALT procedures were recommended by the National Diving Committee and have been approved by Council. The change enables a diver, who has crossed over to the BSAC via a previous SALT, and now wishes to continue their training with another organisation, to do so. Should their training advance their skill level, they may reintegrate back into BSAC training via a further SALT. As with the original SALT, that alternative training must be as similar to a BSAC grade as possible. Otherwise they may require additional training and the appropriate "crossover" training pack would need to be obtained. The Diving Officer will only award similarity to the higher BSAC grade when all required additional training is completed. "

Well done BSAC.
