Anyone have experience of running one of these?

Currently considering a 90hp to replace a 90hp Honda 4 stroke on a 5.5m Viking RIB

Any feedback much appreciated

Early problems with the Optimax were sorted several years ago and reliability is now good. Mind you, considering the difference in Warranty terms between the 2 manufacturers I'd go with Honda -

Honda Five years private or 2 years commercial
Mercury three years private or 1 commercial

You should also look very carefully at the fuel consumption and servicing costs of the reletive engines

Note that clubs get the same warranty as commercial users

Hi Robin

Look at the Suzuki 4 stroke range.

Their 90HP is I belive one of, if not the best on the market.
Its light, for a four stroke and great on fuel and runs really smooth quiet.

Just a matter of Fact, Mercury now offer 3 Years warrenty!! Our 90 Opti is on onder and with a 48% saving on two stroke running costs, and better Hole Shot performance than a Four, It's got to be good""
