Free diver breaks holding breath record

A man from Switzerland has smashed the world record for holding his breath underwater. Freediver breaks holding breath record Peter Colat didn't breathe for 19 minutes and 21 seconds.

Heck, they guy had the benefit of pure O2 for the last ten minutes before the attempt, so that's what you're going to do when snorkelling or spear fishing? I rather don't think so given that you're going to go way beyond the depth at which he performed his "record".

Quite apart from the fact that you are actively involved whereas he's just sitting there in a warm tub, no gear apart from swimming trunks.
