I have been looking around for some travel insurance.
The company advertised on the BSAC web site is not competitive and having spoken to a member of staff at BSAC HQ, it does not provide any benefit to the organisation.
BSAC HQ state they are addressing this issue but so far nothing has happened!!!!
I have done some searching on the internet and come across a company called 'Buddy' who specialise in scuba and ski insurance. www.buddyindepth.co.uk
For a premium of ?95 you get annual worlwide cover, ?5 million medical, ?3000 scuba kit, no depth limit and lots more.
And no I am not a salesman for Buddy, just an active BSAC diver looking for reasonable insurance cover.
Has anyone had any dealings with this company?
And why is BSAC not promoting more competitive selection on issues like this? The organisation could even make a bit of sales commission. Or is that a bit too radical?!

I've used Buddy for annual policies in the past. I've had no problems with them, but I've not had to make a claim either.

IIRC, there is a depth limit of your qualification, but you would not be penalised for going deeper in an emergency or sudden downcurrent or suchlike.

As to BSAC promoting competitive selection, are you volunteering to stay on top of a changing insurance market? Most of 'HQ' are members too.
