Apologies for the strange title.

I currently dive a neoprene drysuit with neoprene seals.

The trouble I have is with the arms. I cant get them fully extended up the arm, despite using lube (the stuff use to shove things up your dogs bum etc).

With brute force for can get most of it, but don't want to damage the suit

Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this, change the lube? Lubing entail arm??

BTW I am using fourth element top

Thanks in advance Owen

Hi Owen

Sometimes it is really difficult to problem solve over the internet. I see you're a member of a diving club. Why don't you toddle along, armed with said suit and undergarments, and have a natter with your fellow club members? Whilst the internet is a reasonable solution for many things, good old fashioned talking with fellow divers face to face also achieves quite a lot too. ;)

HTH.

In that case, why not drop in at your local dive shop and have a natter.

Good luck with it.

If you cant get the arm of your suit up your arm and it is a dry suit i would suggest it might be a little on the tight side.

can you explain a little more, i am having trouble picturing the situation and keep wondering if it is a semi dry

Or do you just mean you cant get the seals to sit flat?

The trouble is the seal are flat and seal from the water. The problem is I can get my arm through, but when I try to get the rest of the arm up my arm i cant so that the question how?

As take's a person holding the arm and me forcing my arm through the arm of the suit to get the rest of the arm up

Hopes this makes sense

Thanks Owen

not really mate, are the arms to tight? to long? I can't picture it at all...

Owen.no offence, but is this defiantly a dry suit we are talking about?

Yes this is a drysuit is has a auto dump valve and a valve for air in.

The arms are too long, so i have access materiel, which is need to go up, so makes the zip do up easier (rear entry)

Thanks Owen

OK.. now I understand, the arms are too long but you know that?!? nothing you can do about that, short of getting it altered professionally. Is it new?

Mate, it should not be this much effort, I would suggest it doesn't fit you and ill fitting drysuits are an accident waiting to happen.

You need someone in front of you, with the suit, so they can look at it, this can't be solved in words

Sounds like the suit is not fitting you well i.e. too long and narrow for your body.

This is going to sound expensive but have you thought of splashing the cash and getting a made to measure suit, then you wont have the same problems.

Problems you can resolve are getting your head and hands through the seals and sometimes you can counter neoprene shrinkage (like I have done recently), but this sounds like the material of the suit itself is not the correct size.
So short of altering the suit rather fundamentally you might be stuck (pardon the pun).:(
