Hi everyone,

We are an East Midlands based BSAC branch (actually based in Derby but have members from Leicester, Ashbourne etc) and we are keen to invite new members to our club.

Formed back in 2008, our club consists of a small but solid number of members ranging from Advanced Instructors to Ocean Diver trainees. We meet every Monday at Moorways pool in Derby before heading across the road to the pub for a social afterwards.

As the new season approaches, we are looking for divers who would like to join us, and we could possibly accommodate trainees in lesser numbers. We share the pool with a PADI school who provide all the kit for £3 per pool session and £2 to use the pool. Because of this, we set our branch membership price low - and I mean low - £20 per year! Don't forget to add on the BSAC membership cost, too (we don't set this, obviously).

To give you a perspective, our last member joined for a total of £110 as a trainee and three months later, all pool lessons and lectures are complete. We don't hang around with training but do pride ourselves on safe diving.

There are also places available on our committee should the right person wish to fill them.

One of our members is a photojournalist and we have been fortunate enough to have had articles in Dive Magazine and the local rags, as well as successful fundraising events.

Long story short, we're a new club, we want dedicated members, we love diving and we want to hear from you if you're interested. Please feel free to PM me or simply reply to this thread for more details.

Many thanks

Whilst we're on the subject, I am currently living in Holbrook, so not far from either Duffield or Belper.

Still need some shiny new members, though.

If we are going to highjack this thread and turn it into a Belper / Duffield pub appreciation thread then

The Duke ( of Devonshire ) in Belper I believe the first in the area with topless barmaids :D  :D
and a chippy almost next door to soak up the beer.

While everyone's claiming allegiance to Belper, I first worked for a subsidiary of Brettles.
