i am new the diving game and i have different poeple advising me on the correct format for bottles to be painted in the black and white format for breathing air as i have been told if the bottle has been made after a certain date then it must be other wise it maybe painted in any colour could you please clarify this matter as i have some cylinder's for test and would like to do it right i thank you for your time in advance and please be gentle :)

Here's the best description you'll find (link below).

I guess you could simply ask the tester's opinion. So far, I haven't heard of colour bars operating, but that will depend where you live I suppose.

I got my (air) tanks tested last month, no hassles about the black and white quartering which they didn't have.

My local shop painted quadrants on all the school kit after consulting with the HSE but does not require it on customer tanks in for a fill.
