Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has ever been to Jamaica and dived? Ive just booked a holiday for myself and partner to go to runaway bay in September. Hes just about to start his OD and Im a DL about to get my instructor training started this year.
Ive had a look around and it seems all the resorts have their own "PADI dive schools" Nothing on the PADI site about these other than resort divers who do cover my resort. Doesnt look lilke theres any BSAC schools/clubs/centres on the island. I dont mind diving with other agencies, but also feel like checking them out prior to leaving as ive heard stories about people just getting a flag and setting up.
Previously dived with FEDAS divers in spain, where there was a slight language barrier - me in schoolgirl spanish as the german guy who spoke english had a cold and couldnt dive, I had no idea of the dive brief or the paperwork. I was glad of my spanish dictionary! and PADI/BSAC in Eygpt.
Can anyone recommend a dive centre? or advise against any.
Also the prices are 1 tank dive, 2 tank dive, 4 tank dive, 8 tank dive.. Do these mean how many dives with tanks? rather than snorkel.. I know this sounds daft.. Ive just never organised the diving before..
