Just had to travel 50 mile round trip (luckily I can use a holiday to do this!)to exchange our club's D size O2 cylinders (hired from BOC, but they'll only deliver to hospitals or pharmacies). No closer depot/agent deals with medical grade O2.
Has anyone else overcome this problem?

ermmmmmmmmmm Now how about listen to Uncle Andy and learn about getting others to help you.

1). Get friendly with your local landlord that gets a delivery from BOC, and get your order dropped off there. Better still, have him order your O2, and you buy from him.

2). Get in with someone that is in the medical trade and do swap for swap.

3). Surely you have a local scrap yard near you, that if nicely , could put your medical O2 on his order books.

3). You know you want O2, and you know who uses it. USE your grey matter and see how others can help you . ;-)

The list is endless

Don't know if this will cause a stink but here goes anyway: alternatively, you could use a regular cylinder, O2 cleaned, preferably bought new for the purpose, get the appropriate adaptor from Sub-Aqua Products (see link) should be catalogue numbers 1330 to 1333, and get your 100% O2 fills from your LDS

Hi, Lyndsey - Your query comes as a suprise ! We have an account with BOC. I needed a refill on a D cylinder recently. I phoned up the BOC national accounts office in/ near Manchester to order up. They delivered a single replacement full D cyl to my home address and took the old one away, the next day. A minimum charge just shy of ?30 but I was anticipating having to drive to/from BOC Letchworth so the minimum charge cancelled out what I would have spent making the trip by car (in real terms).
