Hi,
My late father served aboard 'SS Isbjorn' during World War 2, before she tragically sank in Dec 1944. I understand from the book 'Shipwreck Guide to Dorset and Lyme Bay' that her wreck has been found by some divers and her bell was recovered. Can anyone please help me trace the whereabouts of her bell? I would really like to obtain a photograph of it to help complete my father's WW2 history. Any information would be gratefully received. Thanks very much.

Hi Tim
I hope that somebody can help you with your quest. Have you tried the Receiver Of Wreck (see link, 'Environmental' section)? If the bell has been recovered then it should have been reported, I don't know whether the RoW can help but it might be worth asking.

Another place worth asking is the Divernet Wreck talk, there are some very knowledeble people on there such as Ron Young who may be able to help

Or then again, you could try John Hinchcliffe, who wrote the Dive Dorset Diver Guide. If you've access to the book, his published address should give you access to his phone number through 118, or contact me off list and I'll try to dig out his number.
