Well as you're quite young you can do no better than to read the link below: -

Bren Tierney explains it better than most.

No agency is really better than another. When it comes down to it they are all teaching the same basic thing, especially at entry level qualifications. In fact, based on price, I would normally recommend a PADI OW course over the BSAC equivalent.

At higher qualifications there are more differences. PADI for example never cover diving involving staged decompression, whilst BSAC do. PADI requires a First Aid qualification in order to progress to Rescue diver whilst BSAC have no mandatory 1st aid in their diver training programme.

As far as qualifications go, PADI , I would say, plateaus earlier than BSAC.

There is nothing wrong with PADI as an organisation ( and a most successful one at that ).

On the question of whether BSAC is more safety conscious, it can be suggested, since BSAC does cover some basic rescue skills (Controlled buoyant lift) at entry level whilst PADI , iirc, does not introduce any till rescue diver

Basically he is saying do your homework, the excellent post from Bren should answer all of your questions. If you've got any serious questions about the BSAC then feel free to ask, but we all grew out of silly BSAC vs PADI debates long ago as they are pointless and boring.
