Does anyone know where I can find a history of the development of the Bsac Tables online. Would just like a bit more information to flesh out a presentation I am supposed to be giving soon.
Thanks

From previous discussions on the 'In depth' forum, page 4 or 5, it would appear that there is little of no info on the science of the tables in the public domain. As to the history of their development, there may not be much more.

I hope I am wrong though.

"Little" would be about right, but there is some info available.

In 1988, Tom Hennessy published a paper "Modelling human exposure to altered pressure environments" in "Environmental Ergonomics". This describes the model in reasonable detail (although it leaves out the parameters used - these will have to be reverse-engineered...)

Any idea where I could find that? Our Uni library seems to have every journal ever except "Environmental Ergononics", and searching didn't seem to bring anything up. Any clues?

Not really... I was sent my copy.

I'll see if I can get permission to publish it on a web site. If I do, I'll post the URL here (if I remember!)

Not easy to find, but here are some more details of the book it's published in (which I suspect contains the proceedings of a conference):

Mekjavic, I., Banister, E.W. & Morrison, J.B. (eds) (1988) Environmental ergonomics: sustaining human performance in harsh environments. Philadelphia: Taylor & Francis. ISBN 0850664004

Thanks for that - unfortunately it seems our library didn't think people might want to find out about the history of BSAC tables... hehe!
I was only wanting a look just out of interest really, see where they came from. If Vic can post or send a copy i'd love to have a read, otherwise I might see if the library can actually find a copy for me.
