View Full Version : Bare wetsuit reviews
Hi,
I am looking for a very warm semi-dry suit for UK diving, and I am thinking of layering up on bare suits, with a 3mm undervest, 7mm full suit and 7mm hooded over-vest. Does anyone have any experience with such a set up, either bare or other manufacturers.

I don't know about your waters but that seems a huge lot of neoprene to me - which compresses with depth and therefore loses thermal efficiency.
I Dive a 3mm neoprene rashy, 7mm full suit and 5mm shorty (all scubapro) Find it warm enough for me most of the time but start to get cold on 2 dive days between October and April.
I'm buying a Drysuit now, I was once a hater of dry suits and very much a pro semidry man, I still am a wee bit! as I like nothing better than feeling as though Im in the water and the added freedom of movement, however I would say that if your putting on 17mm there wouldn't be much freedom as opposed to dry and once you dive dry 10 or so times you'll get used to it.
Sitll wear the semi in warmer months and get right down to a 5mm suit in august, but as we're coming into winter and colder waters I'd go dry.
Just my opinion.
