Hi all,

Heading for Sharm in Feb & Aug 2010 (lucky me!). I'm staying in Nabq (Tropicana Hotel)

Got any tips for a good centre to organise a ton of diving?

I've been to Sharm lots of times and without wishing to sound pouty and spoiled :o , I fancy something different than Fiddle Garden and Ras Katy. I hear there is a place called Manta Point that is relatively undived. Anyone heard of it?

Anyway, would appreciate some ideas.

Cheers :)

Hi John,

The bad news is there are no dive centres in Nabq (only a few 'satellite' offices), if you've been here before you will know that all boats leave from Travco, Naama Bay or a small few from Sharks Bay. The good news is that any decent centre will collect you from your hotel and drop you back there at the end of the day (so you are going to have a 20-30 minute drive no matter who you book with).

As for 'Manta point' its a combination of two sites that during the summer almost guarantees you a Manta a day but saldy it doesn't work in the cooler months - sorry.

Recommends!!! Well, I am biaised as I work for Emperor Divers, but the only places I can recomend in town are Camel and Emperor, I used to recomend Ocean College as well but they dont have a hotel at the moment and everything is up in the air, no-one seems to know what is happening to them.

HTH
