Just to let you all know.

Fort Bovisand is now officially shut to the public. Although people were still diving there since the dive operator closed. The area is now gated shut with no access at all.

A shame because it was good sheltered dive.

Another past BSAC National Diving centre gone down the tube. Fond memories of running up cardiac hill and mega meals in the mess hall. I suppose its another case of you don't know what youve got till its gone.

Aye,

'Bovi' became, for many a generation of diver, a proud, venerable and respected institution - alas, by the time of its closing, and by the way it ended-up being run (into the ground?), as advertised/seen on TV, you might be forgiven for thinking that it was being run by escapees from the 'Care in the Community' programme. Again, alas, that's what happens when the 'lunatics take-over the asylum'. I was going to say 'boys, trying to do a man's job' - but, towards the end, it didn't even rate that tag: more 'muppets, trying to do a man's job'.

Bovisand - an institution - a valediction!?

Can someone tell me what happned to Bovisand. I know it was going a little strange, lost its way etc but what pushed it under. any gossip will help
