Hi all,
Am i right in thinking that the report for 2002/03 will be completed for viewing within this month ?
As i understand it, every dive incident is in the BSAC report from all agencies , and not just contain BSAC members ?

It will probably be available online next month. The incident reports are always handed to DOC deligates in printed form and presented to the conference, the highlight is always the "unusual" incidents :-) [One of my favorites was the 'broken ankle' incident : a perfectly OK diver accompanied his suspected DCI buddy on the 'copter ride - only to break his ankle jumping down from the 'copter!]
You're also right in that the BSAC incident reports are the most complete picture that we have of all UK diving incidents - information sources include other agencies, individual divers, the coastguard and newspapers. They also cover overseas incidents involving BSAC divers.
So the incident reports will be ready for DOC on 29th November, we'll get them onto the web ASAP after that.

Thanks for that Keith.
I've nevered jumped from a chopper, always been winched ;-)
However , i did break my ankle after a dive last November at work after getting out the water, walking across the deck in full kit minus fins , and fell on a 10 mm nut laying on the deck ,,,,,,,,

-i enjoyed reading that report, especially as I will savoring the delights of Aquasport myself later this month, I shall even remember to pack the crutches just in case, and by the sounds of it a comfy 4 season sleeping bag as well !!!

Rich.
