New Sports Diver - but my qual card doesn't mention Nitrox!

Hi,
I've just qualified as a Sports Diver, the syllabus of which covers nitrox diving. However, the qualification card (the card one that goes in my qualification record, that my Branch DO signs and stamps) is an old one, from about six years ago when I first joined BSAC and before nitrox was part of the Sports Diver syllabus. The back of the card which details what kind of diving you're qualified to do doesn't mention nitrox - this 'll make it tricky when I'm on holiday to get nitrox fills! What should I do? Can I get a new one from BSAC?
(I'll ask the DO about it, but I probably won't be able to get to Branch meeting for the next few weeks to see him).

Hi James,

Contact HQ on 0151 350 6200 and speak to Membership or the Shop.

They'll most likely request your Lead Instructor (or DO) confirms with HQ Membership Dept that you have completed the Nitrox bits of SD, then you can get a new card, see here (http://www.bsac.com/page.asp?section=1701).

Hi,
Get your Training Officer or other Instructor to complete the form to apply for qualification cards, specifying 'Nitrox', then send it with the required fee to BSAC HQ. You will then receive a Nitrox qualification card.

There is no fee to apply for qualification cards is there? I thought the cost was included in the cost of the training pack (£15 or whatever it was for the Sports Diver pack).

Not if your SD Pack is 6 years old, its only in the last year or so the cost of a card has been included in the SD Pack price. The link I gave has the current price at £10.50 (member), £30.00 (non-member).
