Hello from sunny Selsey :).

Al Boom Diving, Dubai.
The Dive Centre, Jumeirah, Dubai and
Al Marsa Tours, Dibba, Oman

Diving West Coast Emirates is mainly on wrecks, visibility can be mixed because of extensive dredging (curtailed somewhat due to recession), but diving Musandam is Natural History stuff - see my recent video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUoVCt609V8
But not for the faint-hearted there are strong currents!!!

DSDC only dive Fridays/Saturdays and with 150+ club memebers space can be scarce. But they have a lot of info.

Didn't dive in Dubai, but did a couple of days stop over there flying back from our honeymoon in the Maldives. One day shopping, the other day here. http://www.jumeirah.com/Hotels-and-Resorts/Wild-Wadi1/ You might want to hit this place on the day you are fly out (if logistics allow). Highly recommended, much more fun than shopping.

Not sure there's alot of interest to dive around Dubai, but I did two days diving with a dive centre based in Dubai. They bused us out to Jumeirah on the east coast (perhaps 2 hours drive); we did one day diving a couple of local sites, and another day diving on the Musandam peninsular (which is actually part of Oman rather than the UAE). I'd recommend it if you're there, but not as a dedicated diving holiday. I can dig out the name of the dive center I used if you like.

there are a couple of dive centres in Jumeirah as others have noted. Can't remember the name of the one I went with

Hello Divers!

I frequently fly to Dubai for business and always manage to escape for some diving!

I went several times to dive around Dubai an honestly I was not very surprised with the dives... There is not a lot of coral life but we still saw sharks and rays...

There are several diving centres in Dubai but the biggest one and offering more choices is: alboomdiving.com

Now something interesting an new is to dive inside the biggest aquarium in the world... I dove at the aquarium of the Dubai Mall where they have about 400 sharks... it was a great experience but then it depends on you...

You can dive at the DUBAIMALL aquarium (sponsored by alboomdiving.com or in the Atlantis Hotel Aquarium (they have a Whale Shark in there!)...

Enjoy Dubai!

Hasn't that whale shark (finally) been given its freedom? I seem to vaguely remember reading about that.

Walked past this aquarium when we did a day of shopping, and yes, it's impressive. 400 sharks? Narcosis can affect individuals in so many different ways.
