I'm thinking of buying a second hand Redwing and bolting twin 12's to it. Will the Redwing give me enough lift on its own or will I need to use a Buddy stab with it?

Yes, but only at the right price.

Vic - let me ask a further question on his behalf...

Presuming he's using twins:
1. he'll probably want stages at some point
2. he'll have a buddy diving on a similar (i.e. twins) configuration

Therefore:
1. Will the Buddy Redwing lift twins and stages
2. Will the Buddy Redwing lift him and his buddy?

Probably depends on the lift available in the Redwing. What size is it? If you are going to twin 12's than you might have a nitrox stage also..

My advice would be to try the Redwing with the 12's and if possible have a try with a larger wing like a OMS, Halycon or DiveRite.

I think there is an article in the Sept edition of Dive on different Wings which might give you some useful info.
