Hi all,

I hope this is the right place for this post.

I am now in the market for buying some kit but am on quite a limited budget. Looking about the internet I saw this bundle:

Is this a good deal for a first rig?

Firstly welcome to the forums. You've definately picked the right place for the query.

I think you need to give us some more information about where your going to be learning to dive and where you're likely to continue diving in the future. This is because the reg in that package isn't really suitable for cold water (uk diving).

Also have you tried the bcd on yet? It's well worth trying the kit on before you buy it since you don't know how comfortable its going to feel.

Have you considered what type of diving you think you might do in the future since it may be a better investment to get kit that will allow your diving to expand in the future now rather than have to replace everything in a year or two.

The M2 is a no frills workhorse reg used in dive schools, but it's not really
a cold water reg as such.

If you want a better performance, there are other options, but like Mike
says we really need to know where you are thinking of diving.

To give you an example the "500" bit on the BC usually (but not always)
refers to the denier or thickness of the material used. In this case that
would make it fine for holiday diving, but not much cop for the rigours of
the UK.

Give us more info.
