Hi
I am with some friends are going down to Newquay.
I am a OD and the others don't dive. Can any one reccomend any locations we can snorkel? both for new people and me taking them to support them?
Thanks
I've never been to Newquay, but there's a three-year-old thread here about Newquay snorkelling which might be of interest:

Hi
Thanks for that
There's quite a few places to snorkel around Newquay. One place that doesn't get snorkelled often is Pentire Headland, at south end of Fistral Beach. If you're any good you can jump off the end of the headland and swim over to Goose Rock (the island), we used to do that a lot when we were kids. At the North end of Fistral is Towan Headland, good for a shore dive or a snorkel, the north side of Towan (lifeboat slip side) is protected from the predominant SW winds.
Otherwise Porth Island is a nice & easy snorkel.
I went to Newquay last year and took a drive out to Prussia Cove, well worth the journey, it's more down the west side of Cornwall.
How did your snorkelling trip go, Funkymonkey? These days I find other people's snorkelling experiences in UK rivers, lakes and coastal waters of much greater interest than reports about exotic tourist destinations.
