By popular request we have introduced a forum where you can pass along all that gear you don't really need any more, and pick up bargains as a result of others doing the same.
In our Buy & Sell Forum you just describe the goods you have for sale, and the price you are looking for and wait for the requests to roll in to your email box. Of course, you can leave your phone number if you prefer. There is also a facility for you to add a photo of the item for sale. For this its best to have the photo as a JPEG file on your own system and just upload it to the Forum.
If you are a buyer then browse the items on offer and contact the seller direct at the email number given, or a phone number if supplied. Your offer/reply will be made in private, not on the Forum.
Read the Forum Conditions before posting and go down to the bottom of this page for some posting tips.

Happy Hunting,

Mike

Go to Buy & Sell at the blue bar at the top of the page.

Good job Mike

Can I suggest putting your instructions on a popup accessed from a link at the top of the page for future reference

Cheers

Hmmmm... I'm not entirely sure about car adverts, even if you can put dive gear in the boot! What do people think about this - off topic or not?

People should be warned not to use photographs or artwork to which they do not own the copyright (eg ones downloaded from other web sites). This could save the publishers of the forum, the BSAC, a lot of money.

IMHO, we are divers, not car dealers. All adverts should be restricted to diving equipment that can be taken underwater :-)

A car *can* be taken underwater and even lifted back out of it again...Whether it would be of any use afterwards is another matter :)

What about RHIB's? Trailers? VHF Radio's? GPS? Dive bags? Probaby ought to be restricted to dive related items that are directly related to diving.

Hi Bill,

Yes, I'd agree with this view

I agree. Keep the Buy/Sell forum for diving equipment. if I want to buy a car, I would got to a specialist site that deals with these items. Why? more choice, more competition, more information, easier to access. I wouldn't go to CarMart (et al) to buy diving equipment just because I could put use the boot to store it.

Sugestions:
1. Perhaps there ought to be a screening process after posting (say weekly) and remove those that clearly do not belong, question the authors of those that may belong but might be questionable.
2. Perhaps there could be subcategories for items that are clearly related to diving such as ribs, gps, etc. this could help prevent and ever growing list of items. Perhaps meta data tags to aid searchs.

Regards

Pete
