Does anyone have any tips on buying kit from ads on internet forums? I was ideally looking for a payment method that would provide security for seller and buyer. Does anyone have any ideas? - I had thought of using someone else as an intermediary. We shall be unable to meet + not on ebay so seller rating no good. Just to complicate things the seller lives abroad. Am wary as have heard stories of extremely dodgy transactions!

If you think you may need this facility from time to time then it could be worth setting up an account with Paypal. This is one of the most popular systems used on Ebay and is quite simple once its set up.
